Releasing Blocks To Inner Peace
"How to be at peace now? By making peace with the present moment. The present moment is the field on which the game of life happens...Our very Presence then becomes our identity, rather than our thoughts and emotions."
-Eckhart Tolle
If you are a spiritual seeker you know that there are a myriad of spiritual teachers, writings, belief systems and practices available in the world today. Many are extremely profound and reveal deep Truth. However, on a practical day to day level many who read these books and listen to these talks are very challenged by the difference between intellectual knowledge and true letting go of what is in the way of experiencing this spiritual truth and inner peace.
If this is the case for you it is not because the teachings are false or because there is something wrong with you. It is because the methods to attain the realizations, not just intellectual knowledge, often produce results over a long period of time or require you to be very vigilant every minute of the day. Also if you are like many people you may be able to get into deep states of consciousness when at a meditation retreat but when your old buttons get pushed you get right back into suffering and reaction. These buttons are created by old traumas, stories and belief patterns that we keep replaying because they have become patterns in our subconscious/energy system. The techniques I use are very effective tools in helping you clear reactions, traumas and negative beliefs, not just in the moment but at the core in your subconscious/energy system so you will not be re-triggered in the future.
Author and teacher Echkart Tolle refers to these reactions as aspects of the human “pain-body”, Vipassana meditation refers to these as “sankaras” or reactive complexes that build up in your mind, many psychological theories call them "shadow parts", the Buddha called them “craving and aversion” and the root of suffering – a key block to inner peace/awakening. I have found that most people have some triggers which are extremely compelling and can take them out of the moment almost every time no matter how good of a meditator they are or how many books they have read on spirituality. The more you let go of these triggers at the core, especially the really compelling ones, the easier it will be to be present and stay present even when there are challenges in your life. This is what these tools can do for you.
For those interested in a particular spiritual path we can bring that into your sessions. Your spiritual beliefs and understanding can deepen what is possible in the sessions and help connect the practical aspects of what we do with the deeper layers that you are connecting with in your spiritual work. I work with each person where they are and tailor the sessions to who you are in the moment. Your sessions with me then can help accelerate your spiritual progress and deepen the effectiveness of your other practices.
Some compelling ideas that may be in your mind keeping you from Presence/Inner Peace/Awareness:
I was abused and therefore being a victim is part of who I am forever.
Spiritual awakening is too hard or for people who are “better” than me.
I feel disconnected from life itself because of who I am.
I did/didn't do something in the past that I can never be forgiven for.
My mother or father didn't love me and therefore I am not lovable.
I must be doing something all the time or I am worthless, wasting time or unimportant.
I must be “successful” to be of value in the world.
Other people are crazy, mean, unconscious so I can't have peace.
I can only connect to the divine through someone else, never through my own being.
Some of the most compelling aspects of my mind made sense of self were:
I can't trust the choices I make. I must make the “right” choice.
I must do something important to have value in the world but there is something wrong with me so I can't.
The world is sick and crazy and I have to save it.
I am better than other people because I am an outsider in society.
It is not OK for me to express my feelings, if I express them too much I am weak.
I am responsible for the feelings of other people in my life.
I have to be good or people will abandon me and it will be my fault.
EFT and other processes I offer are very effective, practical tools to clear these beliefs as well as emotions and trauma. They are not a replacement for spiritual teaching but as you let go of these blocks at an accelerated pace it is likely that you will have a deeper more complete experience of the other specifically spiritual practices you are doing weather they be meditation, mindfulness, yoga, prayer or anything else.
“This openness [Awareness] is in a completely different relationship with everything that exists, starting with you. It’s in a different relationship with the moment; it’s not going anywhere. Have you noticed? It’s not trying to achieve something else. It hasn’t elevated you or demeaned you. Start to sense the profound innocence of this openness. It’s not perceiving from the past—not from the last moment, much less from the accumulation of a lifetime. It’s perceiving only in this moment.” - Adyashanti

Experiences of Past Clients
EFT for a Spiritual Seeker:
"It was a most impressively easy and rapid shift
progressing me toward my goals, of letting God/Source in, while the ego appeared to lose its compelling hold over my mind. [After many sessions]. And now, I have the confidence that I can return to those places, with the focus of EFT. It is becoming easier and easier for me to return to that Loving Presence, and there is less fear, less resistance and more ease in clearing the seeming egoic obstacles that arise in my mind. I firmly believe that all disease begins in the mind, and that is where the true healing lies--in the mind... I have come a little closer to freedom from the small-minded egoic thoughts and a little closer to my True
Nature, which is everyone's True Nature, feeling the unconditional Love, guiltlessness, gratitude, awe
and unity of all beings."
